  Assess the vision/development proposal and compare to the current planning status of the site.

  Devise in consultation with the client a planning strategy for the project site.
• PROMOTION OF PROJECTS
  Lodge representations to the relevant development plan in support of the client‘s land interests.
• LEADING THE PLANNING APPLICATION
  Manage the planning aspects of projects from early identification of the opportunity through to the completion of the final product on site. This may involve working in partnership with other professionals such as engineers, architects, surveyors, project managers, site agents, solicitors or negotiating with local authority officers/directors/chief executives.
• PRE-APPLICATION DISCUSSIONS
  Engage with the relevant authority prior to making the planning application to promote initial concept and gain feedback and insight into their perspective.
• PRODUCING AND/OR INSTRUCTING SUPPORTING INFORMATION
  Submit information relevant to the planning application such as environmental statements, transport assessments, sustainability statements.
• PLANNING APPEALS AND REVIEWS
  Represent our clients by giving evidence on their behalf and co-ordinating other expert witnesses to give evidence in support of the project.
• LEGAL AGREEMENTS
  Liaise with solicitors in the instruction and preparation of Section 75 Agreements etc.
• COMMUNITY CONSULTATION
  Gauge the timing and level of local engagement both before and during the planning application process. Community consultation may be relevant due to the recent planning legislation introduced in Scotland in 2009, which requires pre-application discussions with at least one community event for all National and Major Developments.
• MAXIMISING PROJECT VALUE
  We endeavour to deliver planning consents for the identified project with planning conditions that are acceptable to the objectives of the project.
